Silvano Dallan stepped behind a Guelph chair in 1961 and never stopped. Three generations of fathers and sons trust this shop for clean tapers, classic cuts and straight razor work.
Silvano Dallan learned barbering in Italy at seventeen, sailed to Canada at eighteen, and stepped behind the chair at his brother's Douglas Street shop in 1961. He made his name on taper backs and brush cuts, always finished with a straight razor.
In 1969 he opened S. Dallan Men's Hairstyling at Willow West Mall, a neighbourhood institution for 41 years, and moved to Edinburgh Road North in 2010, where he still cuts five days a week. Children, fathers and grandfathers sit in the same chair; some clients travel from across Ontario and beyond just to keep the tradition.
